What Gear Is Your Voice In?

Discover Your Voice Workshop - Saturday 27th July 2019, 10am - 4pm (Full details in post below)

What Gear Is Your Voice In?

I am running a new, introductory voice workshop, 'Discover Your Voice' very soon. Over the last couple of days, I have been wracking my creative writing brain to come up with a good way to help people decide if this is a useful workshop for them, instead of just writing a list. I wanted something that helps people have an ‘Aha! That’s for me!’ moment and jump on the 'phone to get in touch. Today, I went to do my Day 25 of the ‘Body Groove Challenge’ and Misty Tripoli’s challenge writes:

‘Imagine for a second if you owned a really expensive sports car, like a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. What if when you drove this car that you never took it out of first gear. That you kept your speed to less than 20-30 miles per hour? Wouldn’t that be a waste of the car’s potential, the things it could do?’
I had my own ‘Aha!’ moment. Don’t you just love it when that happens!

What Gear Is Your Voice In?

This course is an introduction to discover the potential of your voice, and to work towards it's next gear. Firstly, it is important to understand that your voice is fine as it is. Voice coaching is for those who WANT to take it up into the next gear.

Effective Vocal Skills Workshop

Discover your voice’s potential, find and free your voice and begin practising exercises to get the most from it!

An introductory workshop for those who want to learn about their voice and how they can begin to use it more effectively for creative or professional development.

This session covers the introductory work for voice work and the beginnings of exploration of building your voice skills. Perfect for those who want to find and free their voice and those wanting to grow in confidence with their voice.

The course is delivered as a highly practical and interactive online workshop and group sizes are kept small, around 8, people to ensure that everyone gets a chance to explore their voice’s potential over the course.

It is designed to equip you to learn and begin to practise skills needed to find and free your voice and/or to begin building skills to use your voice more effectively, confidently and with greater impact.

You will be working together and in small break out groups in order to practise the exercises and delivery back to the whole group at regular intervals.

When Your Voice Lets You Down!

What a voice nightmare! This is not something you want to happen to you if you have an important speech to make. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-41503413

There are things you can do pre-speech to help if you do have a tickly cold, but not much you can do during if the tickle gets you like it seems here. Plus, the heckler could have made it much worse - and heightened her emotion (fight or flight) during her speech. Not pleasant for anyone.
